OPERATION SOS (20/9 – 30/10)

God has challenged us to “get real” with friends, family, colleagues and neighbours and love them to Christ.

Many of us have built up a fear of letting others know how much God loves them and that He has a wonderful plan for their lives. Therefore we hold back from giving them the amazing gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus even though they are drowning in despair and have no eternal hope. It is as if we have the very life-ring they need, but we hold back from throwing it to them.

During Operation SOS, we have put aside 40 days (20 September – 30 October 2009) to train and equip everybody in Friends so they feel more confident about sharing the Gospel. We are also creating opportunities during these 40 days for everybody to take the eternal news of Jesus to those desperately searching for truth and answers.

21 DAYS OF FAMILY COMMUNION (30/8 – 20/9)

We believe that prayer changes everything and that before we tell people about Jesus, we should ask God to prepare their hearts. So from 30th August to 20th September 2009 we will pray while having 21 Days of Family Communion.

Every day for 21 days we encourage every person and each family to write down on their SOS Prayer List, the names of people they trust God to bring into His kingdom. You may have a family list or each person in the family has his/her own list. Then when you sit down to pray for the people on your list, do so while having communion. There is something very powerful about connecting people who are searching for answers with the cross of Jesus.
